Job Title: Specialist Advisor – Ecology Who You Are Pembrokeshire County Council is seeking a focussed and dynamic planning ecologist with excellent communication skills. You should have a degree in ecology or a related subject and significant experience relevant to the role. A thorough understanding of relevant legislation, like the Habitats Regulations and planning legislation and guidance, is essential. You are articulate, self-motivated, organized, and proficient in IT, including GIS and databases. What the Job Involves The role involves providing specialist advice and information on ecology within the land use planning process, ensuring compliance with related legislation and policies. Your tasks will include developing best practices, advising on statutory nature conservation responsibilities, supporting Development Plans, conducting site surveys, aiding planning application assessments, and contributing to Biodiversity Action Plans. While primarily office-based, site visits and meetings are required. The position is part-time, with hours dependent on experience and costs, and is a fixed-term appointment until December 2025. Home-based working will be considered.
