Cognitive Behavioural Therapist for Psychosis

A True Partnership Approach: This is a unique post that sits within a jointly delivered service ESTEP - Essex Support and Treatment for Early Psychosis - Inclusion (Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust) and Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT). You'll be employed by Inclusion (MPFT), but work day-to-day as part of the Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) team within EPUT. This collaborative model brings together the best of both organisations to provide innovative, person-centred care to individuals experiencing first episode psychosis.
Main duties of the job
The Role: You'll play a vital role delivering high-quality, evidence-based CBT for Psychosis & Bipolar (CBT-PBP) in both individual and group formats, including face-to-face and digital delivery. You'll work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to support people at the early stages of psychosis, offering holistic, recovery-oriented care.

Job Responsibilities
* To maintain an individual caseload; working independently and using own initiative. To be accountable for the direct delivery of clinical work where there is a frequent requirement for intense concentration and frequent exposure to highly charged emotional circumstances.
* Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service and assess the appropriateness of therapy for service users, and participate in referral meetings and MDTs.
* Undertake client-centred interviews which identify areas where the person wishes to see change and or recovery, and make an accurate assessment of risk to self and others.
* To use a recognised theoretical framework and specialist knowledge to formulate individual programmes of care.
* Make decisions on the suitability of new referrals, adhering to the department's referral protocols, and refer unsuitable clients on to the relevant service or back to the referral agent as necessary.
* Formulate, implement, and evaluate therapy programmes for clients.
* Educate and involve family members and others in treatment as necessary.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Qualification from a High Intensity CBT Course (Post Graduate Diploma)
Experience
* Demonstrable experience of working in mental health services
Knowledge
* Demonstrates an understanding of an at-risk mental state and how it could present within an ARMS setting
