Position: After school Club Assistant
Working Hours: 3:00pm - 6:00pm (Monday to Friday) Term Time Only (Opportunity For Additional Work During Holidays)
Job Summary: FUNDA is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an afterschool Club assistant. In this role, you will assist in the smooth operation of our after school club, providing quality care and engaging activities for children. Your primary responsibility will be to support the Club Coordinator in creating a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for children during breakfast and after school hours.
Responsibilities:
* Assist in the setup and preparation of the club facilities before children arrive each day.
* Welcome and register children upon arrival, ensuring their safety and well-being.
* Supervise and engage with children during breakfast and afterschool sessions, fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
* Plan and organize a range of age-appropriate activities, including games, arts and crafts, sports, and educational pursuits, to promote physical and mental development.
* Support children in completing homework assignments and provide assistance when needed.
* Encourage and promote positive behaviour, ensuring a respectful and inclusive environment for all children.
* Ensure compliance with club policies, health and safety regulations, and safeguarding procedures at all times.
* Maintain accurate records, including attendance, incidents, and any relevant information, as required by the Club Coordinator.
* Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, providing updates on children's progress and addressing any concerns or queries.
* Collaborate with the Club Coordinator and other staff members to develop and implement new initiatives, programs, and events that enhance the club experience for children.
* Assist with tidying up, cleaning, and maintaining the club area after each session.
* Attend relevant training sessions and staff meetings as required.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children in a similar role, such as in a breakfast or afterschool club, childcare setting, or educational environment.
* Passion for working with children and providing them with a safe, nurturing, and enjoyable environment.
* Knowledge of child development principles and ability to engage children in age-appropriate activities.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff.
* Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks and maintain a structured daily routine.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, following instructions and taking initiative when required.
* Basic first aid knowledge and an understanding of health and safety regulations.
* Willingness to undergo necessary background checks, including an enhanced DBS check.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From £12.30 per hour
