We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Manager to join the Lucy & Yak Product Team Lucy & Yak prides itself on the comfort and fit of all our products. The Technical Manager is responsible for delivering a high standard of quality, fit and production across all products, ensuring consistency is achieved in quality standards that match brand specifications, controlling, investigating and reporting on all quality issues. You will manage the garment technologists accountable for delivering correct fit, quality, fabric certification requirements, fabric and product testing, ensuring all products are fit for purpose. What you'll be doing Manage the technical team, onshore and offshore to deliver high quality standards across product, packaging, testing, certification and labelling while ensuring critical path deadlines are achieved. Work with the design team at the beginning of the season to input into tech packs to ensure instruction is clearly understood by suppliers to deliver correct first protos. Work closely with the Product Development team, reviewing fabrics, conducting risk assessments at the earliest opportunity within the product development process, requesting wearer trials and resolving any identified issues. Create patterns for new styles, where current patterns can not be adapted. Develop standardised blocks, including grade rules to be used across the supply base, to ensure consistency with fit is achieved across all sizes and products. Ensure continuity product and core fabric qualities are maintained to the business requirements. Manage quality inspection monitoring at the supply base. Manage the technical team in effective returns reporting and analysis to understand, react and adapt to reasons for returns and customer feedback on product fit and quality. Manage fit sessions, working closely with Design and Buying to ensure excellent and consistent fit of product, together. Support Sourcing Manager with onboarding new suppliers and managing the current supplier base for quality and product compliance. Collaborate with Sustainability Manager to contribute to the requirements of responsible business practices across compliance, safety standards and sustainability for product, packaging, labelling and suppliers. Support strong ethical compliance business strategy that delivers to L&Y practices. Regular store visits, reviewing customer feedback. Motivate, support, coach and develop the Tech team. What you need Proven experience working in a Senior Product Technical role. Strong managerial skills Experience in pattern cutting and grading. Knowledge and passionate about sustainability and GSR Exceptional people skills, including strong communication, interpersonal skills and relationship building. Ability to work in a fast paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. Experience working with offshore factories. Able to use technical expertise to influence commercial decisions.
