Cheshire & Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust has an exciting opportunity to join the Finance team as a Band 5 Deputy Management Accountant.

The Deputy Management Accountant will play a key role in the Management Accounting Team and provide support in providing timely, relevant and accurate financial information to clinical and non-clinical services.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be CCAB certificate level or AAT qualified, or with equivalent experience in a busy finance office environment, preferably within the NHS, and will possess excellent communication and organisational skills and a real commitment to excellent service delivery. This is a key role in supporting the regular monthly processes carried out by the department, as well as supporting the production of annual accounts and the annual planning process.
The post holder must be capable of working to tight deadlines whilst ensuring consistency and accuracy. You will also be expected to prioritise your workload and demonstrate initiative whilst working alone, and as part of the wider team. The post holder will take day to day responsibility for a range of budget areas, providing high quality financial monitoring information and offering advice and support to budget holders, as well as being responsible for the supervision of junior members of staff on a rotational basis.

Qualifications
* AAT Qualified or finance related/business degree
* 5 GCSE’s at Grade C or above including English and Mathematics
* Studying CCAB (Professional Accountancy qualification)
Knowledge and Expertise
* Working knowledge of all aspects of management accounting and budgetary control.
* Ability to produce and interpret detailed trend and variance analysis
* Track record of performance in delivering against tight deadlines
* Awareness of the NHS Finance Regime and the working of NHS bodies
Experience
* Proficient in the use of spreadsheets (Excel)
* Competent in the use of word processing applications (Word)
* Experience of working in a supervisory position within a Finance department
* Experience of using General Ledger and periphery electronic modules
