Our client, a prominent organisation in the engineering sector, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Exeter. This permanent position offers a unique opportunity to work on a significant £8 million highways project, focusing on the development of a dual carriageway and roundabout.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing the financial aspects of high-value projects
Ensuring compliance with NEC contract standards
Collaborating with project teams to oversee cost control, contract management and project estimation
Reporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor in the region
Conducting regular site visits and meetings to monitor progress and financial performance
Preparing and presenting detailed reports and financial forecasts
Providing insights and recommendations for cost-effective project delivery
Ensuring all financial activities conform to legal standards and guidelines
Job Requirements:
Experience in Quantity Surveying, particularly within highways engineering or heavy civils sectors
Proficient understanding of NEC contracts, specifically NEC4
Ability to manage large-scale projects, with Tier 1 contractor experience being advantageous
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to readily commute to the Exeter site, with preference for candidates living within an hour's distance
Flexibility to work on-site for three days a week and remotely for two days
Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying or related fields
