Job Profile As a Clinical Governance Officer you will provide high-quality support to the clinical governance team, working closely with the Head of Clinical Governance to undertake a variety of key administrative and support functions. The Clinical Governance Officer will have a solid understanding of the pillars of clinical governance, with a focus on patient safety, compliance, complaints, and audits, as well as the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF). with strong administrative skills, a solid understanding of essential IT systems (such as Excel, Power point and Word), and an ability to prioritise a diverse workload. • Job Type: This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week. • Hours: 9-5.30pm Benefits package: • Contributory pension scheme (total annual contribution up to 20%). • Private Medical Healthcare. • 33 day’s annual leave (Inclusive of bank holidays). • Season ticket travel loan, family friendly benefits, and a wide range of discounts with a variety of retailers/services, plus much more. • We also offer excellent career development; with clear career pathways and access to further education. Key Duties • Provide administrative support to the clinical governance team, including scheduling meetings, taking minutes, tracking attendance, and managing day-to-day tasks related to governance activities. • Co-ordinate and compile various reports for senior-level meetings and quality discussions, ensuring timely submission and alignment with deadlines. • Support ad hoc administrative tasks, while also contributing to clinic-wide projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing patient safety and care quality. • Collaborate with the Patient Safety and Compliance Officer to support the Learning from Deaths framework, coordinating meetings and ensuring outcomes are documented and published according to terms of reference. Assist with maintaining the Mortality and Morbidity database. • Assist in the tracking, documentation, and reporting of patient safety incidents, complaints, and audit activities, ensuring compliance with internal and external reporting standards. • Contribute to the planning and execution of patient safety improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with clinical governance and quality standards. Skills & Experience • Experience in clinical governance, patient safety, or quality improvement within a healthcare setting. • Administrative experience • Report writing for assurance experience • A commitment to continuous learning and improvement in patient safety practices. • Relationship building with internal stakeholder • Able to collate essential data to meet deadline • Excellent communication • Excellent MS Word, Powerpoint and Excel skills • Excellent organisational skills and prioritisation
