We are looking for a multi-skilled engineer to investigate and rectify running issues and perform planned preventative maintenance to ensure the machinery in the Packhouse runs at maximum efficiency without compromising quality, meeting customer requirements and health and safety standards.
Working hours: 17.00 - 05.00, 4 days on, 4 days off
The position
1. Work closely with the Engineer Supervisor, Packhouse Manager, Team Leaders, and Line Leaders to understand, investigate, and rectify running issues to ensure maximum efficiency from our equipment.
2. Liaise with the Production Manager in carrying out preventative maintenance to minimize downtime for both breakdown and prevention.
3. Perform and organize regular planned preventative maintenance to ensure downtime due to breakdown is kept to a minimum.
4. Work closely with the Line Leaders, Machinery Suppliers, and Manufacturers to achieve maximum efficiency from packing machines and production.
5. Ensure that maintenance, servicing, and general duties are carried out effectively.
6. Always ensure that machinery is safe to use. If at any time a machine is unsafe, it must be closed down until it is safe.
7. Take an active role in promoting Health and Safety within the factory and on the site.
8. Work closely with all Engineers in MBC to ensure that engineering purchases of equipment and tools are kept to a minimum to perform the work required.
The perfect candidate
1. A time-served multi-skilled engineer with electrical bias, with a proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment of frequent change.
2. Ability to prioritize workload as the working situation develops.
3. Proactive approach to work to meet the targets set by the engineering supervisors throughout the shift.
4. Ability to work alongside the shift manager and schedule maintenance around production and break times.
5. A keen eye for detail when conducting monthly checks on machinery and processing paperwork.
6. Previous experience in using a stick welder or the ability to be trained in this area.
7. A fully qualified electrician with commercial experience would be desirable.
