Job Responsibilities
As the Turf Equipment Sales Representative, you will represent Huron Tractor by promoting sales of new and used equipment to existing customers and identifying potential customers in a defined sales territory. Whether you have sales experience or are starting your career in Sales, we will provide the training to help shape your future with Huron Tractor.
This position reports to the Branch Manager and is responsible for:
* Assessing customers’ needs and recommending the appropriate products and services.
* Preparing and administering sales contracts following a defined sales process.
* Staying current on used equipment values for accurate trade-in evaluations.
* Utilizing sales/marketing software packages and maintaining knowledge of financing options.
* Conducting equipment demonstrations and staying current on product knowledge.
* Consulting with customers after sale to provide ongoing support.
* Maintaining current knowledge on product features and benefits available for sale.
* Maintaining customer profiles and information in assigned area for sales management.
* Attending applicable sales training events and seminars.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
* 2+ years’ experience in equipment sales is preferred.
* Two years post-secondary education in marketing/agriculture or equivalent relevant work experience.
* Solid understanding of the turf/agricultural industry would be an asset.
* Ability to build excellent customer relationships.
* High energy and a positive attitude are a must.
* Demonstrate initiative in completing work while being self-motivated and organized.
* Adopt a selling approach based on asking task-oriented questions, validating customer requirements, proposing solutions, offering demonstrations, and moving to close.
* Able to work flexible and extended hours.
* Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
* Proficient computer and software skills.
