University Hospitals Dorset are looking for a motivated individual to join our Income and Costing team as a Band 5 Costing accountant!
The post will support the production of Service Line Reporting, Patient Level Costing (PLICS) and will assist in the submission of the National Cost Collection (NCC).
We are looking for a candidate who is keen to develop a career in NHS finance and we will actively support you with this. The successful candidate will be working as part of a committed team and should be able to demonstrate the desire to work in NHS Finance, ability to work in a team and to deadlines, prioritising workload and able to communicate well to non-finance colleagues.
Main duties of the job include:
• To lead on maintenance of data sets required for the costing function including identification of new functions and their treatment.
• To ensure the timely and accurate input of data into the costing model with reconciliations to ensure completeness.
• To assist with the reconciliation of activity between source data and final outputs of costing system - Reconciliation to Secondary User Systems/Health Episode Statistics (SUS/HES) for the National Cost Collection (NCC) returns.
• To develop and maintain strong data quality processes.
• To capture new data alongside clinical services and their teams to meet Costing Transformation Programme (CTP) requirements.
