Our client, a main Civil Engineering contractor operating within the Water & Civils sector, has an excellent opportunity available for Site Engineers to join their team on a permanent basis, working out of their base in Suffolk.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience delivering Civils, Water, or Construction. The role is located in Bury St Edmunds / Stowmarket and is part of one of the largest infrastructure projects in the UK. This project will involve the engineering, integration, and assembly of interconnected pipelines to move water from surplus areas to those in deficit, making the east of England resilient to drought and securing water supplies for future generations.
As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for the management of day-to-day site quality assurance, including surveying, setting out duties, quality checks, and assisting the site management team with all aspects of health, safety, and environmental aspects.
Your key responsibilities as a Site Engineer:
1. Overseeing quality control and assisting in the implementation of SPA’s SHEQ vision.
2. Assisting the QS with quantities and project progress.
3. Having a proactive approach to resolving unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.
4. Supporting the Senior Site Engineer and Site Agent with the day-to-day running of the site.
5. Acting under the Site Manager as a supervisor on site for specialist subcontractors.
6. Transferring digital and paper data/drawings onto site, and back into digital models enabling accurate and auditable record keeping.

Requirements:
1. Experience working as a Site Engineer.
2. Main contractor background.
3. Experience on Water/Civils projects.
4. Water Pipeline experience.
Your required Skills and Experience:
1. Can demonstrate experience of being part of large-scale infrastructure programmes of work, preferably within the water sector.
2. Work with the site management team to help deliver site safety, productivity, and culture.
3. Can take the lead on ensuring our product is right first time.
4. Has a can-do attitude and enthusiasm to innovate and get the job done.
