MSK Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist (Internal Only)

An opportunity has arisen for a band 6 to join our innovative and friendly team of Physiotherapists on a fixed term basis as part of our Out-patient Therapy team.
This post represents an excellent opportunity to progress your career in Musculoskeletal expertise or gain further experience of out-patient Physiotherapy having had extensive experience of musculoskeletal Physiotherapy as a Band 5.
On joining our MSK Physiotherapy team you will be expected to assess and treat a broad range of interesting and stimulating conditions, with the support of a team of Band 7 Advanced Clinical Specialists and FCP's and Advanced Practitioners.
We are a forward thinking and evolving Physiotherapy service, offering a range of staff experiences from Physiotherapy Assistants through to Advanced Clinical Practitioners and First Contact Practitioners. Each discipline is supported by a clinical lead, with strong links with GP's, consultants and local universities.
Hours per week: 22.5 fixed term
Main duties of the job
* To act as part of the Clinical and Administrative Physiotherapy teams for centres across East Cheshire and take an active role in assisting in the organisation and delegation of duties within Physiotherapy team and aid in the dissemination of knowledge and duties required to maintain the high standards associated with each East Cheshire clinic, and build specific ties with the East Cheshire GP's and provide innovation to further improve the service.
* To act as a Clinical Specialist, providing a high standard of specialist assessment and treatment for musculoskeletal / orthopaedic patients in a variety of locations. Using evidence based principles / current best practice, specialist skills and clinical reasoning to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
* To support the Team Managers and Advanced Clinical Specialists in the day to day running of the clinics and to assist in service improvement initiatives in area of work.
* To regularly supervise, educate and support more junior staff, assistants and external students on placement.

Qualifications
* HCPC registration
* Clinical educators training
* Attendance at degree level post graduate courses relevant to the specialist area or working towards this or be prepared to study at this level

Experience
* Proven post registration experience, some of which is in a relevant setting / associated area.

Specific Job Requirement
* To have a specific interest and commitment to musculoskeletal Physiotherapy as evidenced by CPD portfolio and post graduate training.
* To have completed the core junior rotations, to include outpatients and acute orthopaedics
Knowledge
* Post registration knowledge which is relevant to the specialist area and evidenced by CPD
* Knowledge of recent NHS legislation and recommendations.
* Awareness of the national and local priorities and changing trends in specialist area.
* Knowledge of the service / trust values & objectives
