Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Salary: £33,000 - £38,000 (depending on experience)
Location: Springvale, Belfast, Northern Ireland

Currently the Springvale Facility works 4 days per week, Monday through to Thursday as their core hours. Flexible working arrangements will be considered for this role, in-line with the needs of the business.

The Role:
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to join Caterpillar at the Springvale Facility in Belfast. You will have the opportunity to work with others across our organisation and you will be directly involved, and at the heart of our business, participating on strategic projects. What you will do
* Line ownership with responsibilities for key KPI including Safety, Quality, Velocity and Cost.
* Lead the introduction of new products and processes (NPI)
* Conduct problem solving and hold Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations.
* Managing safety, quality and process improvements on an assembly line.
* Identify, define and implement process quality and process design steps in line with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
Requirements
* Identify, purchase and co-ordinate the installation of tooling, equipment, machinery and capital expenditure projects
* Ensure that Design for Manufacture and Assembly principles are applied through the product development process
* Ensure new product and process implementations meet safety requirements
* Ensure accurate new product costing through Bill of Materials (BOM) and routing accuracy
* Co-ordinate and implement complex engineering changes
What you will have
* Judgment and Decision Making: Knowledge of the decision-making process; ability to carefully evaluate the impact of emerging business situations and choose the best path forward communicating actions and activities that maximize organizational performance.
* Manufacturing Equipment: Knowledge of the electrical, mechanical and logistics equipment used in manufacturing; ability to safely operate, maintain, update and store them.
* Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge of existing product manufacturing methods, technologies and processes; ability to execute, plan, manage and monitor the entire manufacturing process.
* Manufacturing Safety: Knowledge of manufacturing safety; ability to identify work-related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers, environment and site.
* Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies: Knowledge of organizational standards, procedures and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan, guide, and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance.
* Problem Management Process - MFG: Knowledge of manufacturing problem management processes, methodologies and techniques; ability to use a disciplined approach to bringing that problem to a successful resolution.
Top candidates will also have
* A degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Electrical engineering or/and relevant manufacturing experience.
* Experience and knowledge of Six sigma, Lean Manufacturing practices and/or APQP
* Experience with Assembly line balancing.
* Experience with leading RCCA investigations and implementing solutions.
* Experience of SAP or another MRP/ERP system.
* Experience in 3D CAD
