We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for two Permanent Highways Supervisor to join our dynamic SPIM team at Seven Bridges Maintenance Unit.
In this role, you will organise and supervise maintenance gangs and carry out maintenance of all three structures including safety improvements.

What You’ll Do:
1. Deliver maintenance and renewals works project programme to the client’s programme and budget including:
2. Assist the Gantry Supervisor with the evaluation, control and planning of work programmes and methods as directed
3. Requisition of materials, plant & contractors
4. Organising gantry maintenance, statutory examinations and traffic management / roadspace
5. Attending meetings with internal teams, contractors & client
6. Liaising / communicating with internal teams, contractors & client to ensure successful delivery of programme
7. Updating programme with progress
8. Foreman duties of all three structures as and when required
9. Supervise the inspection, maintenance and repair of the bridge underdeck gantries including the Rapid Access Train, cradles and associated plant
10. Management of maintenance units including:
1. Stock management, arranging / receiving deliveries and carrying out weekly depot inspections
2. Ensuring Legionella checks are being carried out and that all required servicing of fire alarms, fire extinguishers etc are carried out
3. Ensure all depot compliance checks are carried out at required intervals and calibration checks are carried out of relevant plant and small tools
4. Opening / closing of maintenance units
11. Supervision and overseeing of works on site including site visits to resolve operational, resourcing and safety issues including:
1. Contractor & client site visits, weekly site inspections and escorting visitors on site
2. Security / key issue management
3. Ensuring all site personnel are accounted for at the end of each shift.
12. Implementation of safe systems of work (SSOW) including:
1. Obtaining permits and assisting the Gantry Supervisor in preparing maintenance procedures, method statements and risk assessments for activities as required
2. Briefing of Procedures & risk assessments to site workers, contractors & visitors
3. Carrying out safety inductions and delivering tool box talks and safety alerts when required
4. Ensuring COSHH assessments in place and briefing to relevant personnel
5. Briefing gantry drivers & personnel working on the gantries
6. Writing and delivering daily awareness briefings
13. Comply with all relevant health and safety legislation including:
1. Raising close calls on the internal AVA system
2. Assisting in accident / incident investigations
14. Ensure compliance to quality (ISO 9001) requirements through:
1. Ensuring all employees attend the SBIM quality induction
2. All contract information / reports are uploaded to the SBIM SharePoint
3. Participating in internal, external and client audits
15. Participation in contract emergency on-call rota
16. Dealing with calls from the Nationals Highways ROCC (Regional Operations Control Centre)
17. Management of Plant & Fleet and liaising with HSS to ensure all plant and vehicles are serviced and records maintained
18. Ensure all vehicles are “CheckedSafe” every day
19. Oversee measurement and valuation of work carried out including, ensuring all resource utilisation is captured using tablet technology to the correct cost codes
20. Completion of PowerApps approvals
21. Ensure compliance to environmental legislation including:
1. Carrying out monthly environmental depot inspections and segregation of waste / waste management
22. Management of staff including:
1. Absence management / ensuring all absence recorded on ESS / MSS system
