Workshop Operative
Our client, a successful manufacturing business close to Norwich, is currently seeking a Workshop Operative to join their team.
This is initially a temporary role, with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate.
This role is Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm; due to seasonal variations, these hours can be variable.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist with or complete the construction, production, and assembly of cases and affiliated products using a variety of hand tools or power tools, complying at all times with the company's defined practices and methods.
2. Fabricate and assemble sub-assemblies with sufficient lead time to enable others to complete more complex products as scheduled.
3. Liaise with the Workshop Manager to implement work schedules to ensure the timely completion of all sales orders.
4. Ensure a high standard of quality production with continuous improvement, reporting any problems or potential problems to the Workshop Manager.
5. Train to carry out the maximum range of tasks, for which they are capable, within the workshop department.
6. Comply with all aspects of the Health and Safety procedures at all times, ensuring any concerns are brought to the attention of the Workshop Manager without delay.
7. Ensure that all defined personal protection equipment is utilized within the workshop or for the safe use of handheld tools (e.g., hand routers, grinders, etc.).
