Working as part of the Process Technology, Innovation and Productivity (PTIP) team you will be responsible for all import and export activity whilst providing guidance as required for the broader R&D function. This accountability covers the movement of edibles including dairy, packaging and equipment around the globe.
In addition you will take a prominent role in the day to day planning activities at our Centre of Excellence in Bournville. The role covers both the PTIP team and broader R&D community to support internal customers and key stakeholders in delivering key trials in our Pilot Plant. You will be responsible for production planning of samples for consumer science testing, analytical testing, and pure innovation learnings.
You will work closely with Pilot Plant Operations, Quality, Engineering and Hygiene teams to meet business objectives in line with agreed deadlines.
How you will contribute
Import & Export:
1. Own the I&E agenda for the R&D PTIP team in support of ingredient, equipment and packaging movements across the globe.
2. Coach and provide best practice guidance for the wider R&D community through a weekly drop-in session.
3. Ensure I&E issues are resolved in timely manner to avoid delays to key projects within the team.
Planning:
4. Develop, maintain, and own the master plan for all pilot plant trials and activities.
5. Establish yourself as the first point of contact for planning requirements.
6. Review and approve trial requests with a keen attention to detail.
7. Ensure maintenance and sanitation schedules are planned, communicated, and executed.
8. Host weekly meetings with key stakeholders focusing on upcoming planned activities, challenges, and resource allocations.
9. Capture all trial outputs in defined Excel documents, developing best practice processes for data input.
10. Become a super user of our trial and inventory management system.
Material Control:
11. Track stock levels of core pilot plant ingredients and consumables. Complete scheduled stock takes and request purchase orders for replenishment as and when required.
12. Deliver YOY reduction in inventory through physical and financial KPI’s whilst ensuring availability
13. Generate data to support material planning and budget requirements.
Safety:
14. Fully engage with our safety agenda by becoming an area owner and implementing a full 5S program in that section (Experience of 5S advantageous but training will be provided).
15. Contribute daily with effective safety conversations within the R&D department.
Quality:
16. Own our sanitation quality policy ensuring day-to-day compliance and driving improvements in this area with the help of Quality.

18. A detailed understanding of I&E requirements across the globe.
19. A technical understanding of planning principles ideally in an R&D or production environment; preferably food or other fast moving dynamic industries.
20. Able to influence cross-functional teams, working on key priorities and improving the plan.
21. A proven history of working with KPI’s and/or SLA’s.
22. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills – able to understand and interpret data.
23. Team player who can work with many other functions daily.
24. Experience with materials planning and stock control.
25. IL6S or CI experience (desired but not required).
