The Position
The ideal candidate will be a motivated and patient-focused Optometrist who thrives in an independent practice environment. They should have experience in specialist services such as triage, soft contact lenses, and emergency eye care while demonstrating strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and colleagues. A keen eye for detail, the ability to work collaboratively within a close-knit team, and a commitment to delivering exceptional care are essential. While an Independent Prescribing (IP) qualification would be advantageous, it is not a requirement. A willingness to continue learning and developing professionally, with an interest in additional training and career progression, would be highly valued.

The best location for the Optometrist to be based would Forres and surrounding areas.

responsibilities:
* Conduct thorough eye examinations using advanced diagnostic equipment, ensuring accurate prescriptions and clinical assessments.
* Provide expert advice on vision correction, including glasses and contact lenses, ensuring patients receive the best possible solutions for their needs.
* Perform pre-screening procedures and work closely with trained Optical Assistants.
* Deliver strong patient handovers and communicate effectively with the wider practice team to ensure seamless care.
* Diagnose and manage ocular conditions, including triaging emergency cases and providing appropriate referrals to local hospitals.
* Engage in advanced clinical services, including specialist contact lens fittings and dry eye management.
* Maintain up-to-date clinical knowledge and participate in ongoing training and professional development, including courses funded by the practice.
* Support the commercial success of the practice by maintaining excellent customer service and assisting with frame recommendations when needed.
* Work collaboratively within a friendly, supportive team, ensuring high standards of patient care and satisfaction.
