Key Responsibilities:
1. Managing optimum stock levels to achieve sales and online sell through.
2. Identifying opportunities for the growth of online exclusive product.
3. Providing commercial insight into the online channel performance to guide Buyers & Category Merchandisers in building appropriate ranges.
4. Acting as the focal point and communication link between the Category Buying and Merchandise team and the online channel team.
5. Managing in-season stock build, allocation and stock availability of all multi-channel offers (online, catalogue, TV, etc.) in line with various critical paths and KPIs (sales, profit, returns, availability, sell through).
6. Growing sales and ensuring the creation of a balanced product offering, using analytics to optimize the site and drive web traffic.
7. Ensuring online activity is in line with overall brand and marketing strategy.
8. Building ranges from scratch and substantiating the numbers behind them.
9. Constructing sales and stock plans to support the overall multichannel budget but specific to individual publications (online, catalogue, TV, etc.).
10. Influencing online marketing activity to maximize commercial opportunity based on company-level product performance and/or stock levels.
11. Consistently managing the flow of product and working closely with the Buying & Merchandise team to minimize lead times, create flexibility, and improve availability.
Selection Criteria:
1. Experience in a retail merchandising environment, ideally with E-commerce experience.
2. Numerical/analytical skills including data, budgets, range, and production planning.
3. Ability to evolve with the role and adapt to suit expectations as the position develops.
4. Ability to manage and motivate the E-commerce Assistant whilst demonstrating own competencies internally – playing a “hands-on” role whenever necessary.
5. Strong demonstration of range planning.
6. Excellent knowledge of forecasting principles.
7. Able to “spot the winners”.
8. Thorough understanding of the key elements of the Buying Cycle and the principles of E-Commerce trading.
9. Commercially minded with an entrepreneurial spirit, able to demonstrate own creativity whilst empowering the team to encourage personal development.
