JOB SPECIFICATION Digital Learnng Design Creative Lead Company: CDS Defence & Security Job Title: Digital Learnng Design Creative Lead Department: Operations - Training Business Unit Location: Hybrid/ Cheltenham Reports to: T&LD Consultancy Manager Job Role Overview: The role involves serving as a Creative Lead within the Digital Learning Design (DLD) Team. This team comprises skilled specialists who develop digital learning solutions from concept through to delivery. They excel in using rapid authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline to produce high-quality digital learning programs and other educational media. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with training and education experts, subject matter experts (SMEs), and other creative specialists to understand clients learning requirements and provide implementation advice. Develop innovative and engaging learning solutions, including detailed storyboarding and the use of various media elements. Work with SMEs to upload online courses to the client s Learning Management System (LMS) according to specifications. Collaborate with the DLD Team on the technical aspects of team tasks and processes. Support the project management of DLD Team tasks, ensuring performance, cost, and time targets are met. Contribute to Quality Assurance of DLD Team outputs. Research emerging technologies to deliver cutting-edge solutions, including apps for online learning, blended learning, virtual/augmented reality, and new programming languages or technologies. Actively contribute to innovation and collaboration within the team. Communicate effectively with key stakeholders, both internal and external. Monitor the progress of content development with customer SMEs, developers, and training consultants as needed. Support and comply with centralized project documentation processes. Build strong working relationships with CDS DS training consultants. Promote and represent the Bailie Group and its subsidiaries proactively. Perform additional duties and activities as directed by the Head of Training. Qualifications and Experience: Essential: Extensive experience in digitised content development for training and education. Proficiency in the production and/or quality assurance of digitized content. Significant experience with authoring packages like Articulate 360 for creating high-quality online learning courses. Competence in Adobe CC Suite, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects. Working knowledge of LMS systems, preferably Moodle. Experience with projects involving film production, 3D modelling, animation, and gamification of learning. Knowledge of methods, media selection, and related products. Team player with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to fostering positive working relationships. Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and influence skills. Clear and confident communication skills, both verbally and in writing, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Solid understanding of current Technology-Enhanced Learning (TEL) theories and approaches. Experience with SCORM protocols. Experience providing technical support to clients to optimize their use of digitized learning. Instructional design experience, including conducting storyboarding sessions with clients. Ability to obtain or already holding DV security clearance. Additional Qualifications and Experience: Demonstrated experience in a creative lead role within a digital learning or instructional design team. Strong analytical skills for assessing project performance and implementing improvements. Ability to develop and implement a creative vision for eLearning projects to enhance learner engagement. Experience creative leading a team of designers and multimedia developers in creating visually appealing and user-friendly eLearning content, including graphics, animations, videos, and interactive elements. Collaboration with instructional designers and SMEs to ensure creative concepts align with educational goals and technical requirements. Up-to-date knowledge of the latest trends in design, technology, and eLearning to push the boundaries of digital learning environments. Oversight of the quality and consistency of all creative outputs, ensuring high standards of design and usability. Understanding of project management and ability to support resource management across multiple projects, maintaining high-quality work while adhering to deadlines. Present creative concepts and prototypes to stakeholders, incorporating feedback and aligning with project goals. Desirable: Experience as a creative lead on projects, with the ability to inspire a team. Experience in senior client engagement. Experience working as an Instructional Designer within and outside the Defence sector. Proven track record of customer-facing business achievements. Experience delivering within a growing commercial business and meeting ambitious targets. Knowledge of JSP 822 and DSAT Quality Standards, including required stages, activities, and outputs. A management or leadership qualification or training would be advantageous. UK Driving license. A post-graduate qualification related to Training and Education is desirable but not essential. You are expected to take on additional challenges, be visionary, and propose innovative ideas. Location Predominantly home working. Working in the CDS DS office in Cheltenham when required.
