At Virgin Atlantic, we are hiring Learning Leads to support Safety, Security, and Service Delivery. In this role, you will be responsible for undertaking training needs analysis to identify learning needs and ensuring a training strategy is co-created with local partners to meet their needs and skills gaps. Priding yourself on the efficiency and effectiveness of learning through evaluation and data.
You will craft training with a blended digital and face-to-face approach where possible. Ensuring you manage the development and performance of trainers to ensure the standardisations of training delivered meet the quality assurance framework, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
Day to day
* Maintain subject matter expertise in specific areas of the training field (including safety, security, and aviation medicine). Demonstrate and evidence continuous professional development as required.
* The ability to undertake training needs analysis to identify training needs.
* Lead the 'Train the trainer' for line trainers ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills to deliver high-quality training for our people.
* Deliver training when required in the absence of line trainers and during peak periods.
* Inspire new and existing trainers with your own knowledge, skills, SME expertise, and delivery capability.
* Attend and chair regular meetings with senior team members to maintain relations and identify upcoming regulatory/policy/procedural changes to understand any impact on training material.
* Provide strong and inspiring leadership to the team of trainers. Complete regular development to include 121's, career conversations, annual and midyear appraisals.
* Develop a team of professional line trainers, improving talent to achieve efficiency and effectiveness through robust team performance management and setting objectives to meet business requirements.
* Complete annual observations and all regulatory observations as part of the line trainer upskill process, delivering in-the-moment feedback, coach support, and role model excellence.
* Develop and build the training strategy for their area of expertise, which meets the needs of our company and builds the future skills of our teams.
* Presenting and influencing senior partners to commit to the training strategy and buy into the training approach for their specific areas of expertise.
* Maintain training materials to ensure that they remain accurate, up to date, and aligned with any requirements prior to the delivery and completion of training by learners.
* Develop new training content following robust training needs analysis to ensure outputs are effective and designed in line with our approach to learning and design principles.
* Conduct regular and data-driven reviews to ensure our approach remains effective and follows standard methodology. Communicate changes in a timely manner to all relevant parties ensuring an audit trail is available for record purposes.
* Ensure the application and quality assurance monitoring framework within SME area, lead on support and improvement within the trainer community. Ensure all records relating to line trainer delivery skills are maintained accurately and as required by the company and/or regulators.
* Taking a continuous improvement approach to evaluation, continuously developing approaches and material based on data and evaluation.
* Work together with key internal customers and auditing functions to showcase compliant practices and standardised training delivery.
* Develop and assess effective evaluation methods to demonstrate the value of training, improvement in performance, and the return on investment.

Alongside the above, we're looking for the following:
* Trainer qualifications (safety, security, aviation medicine).
* Learning and Development CIPD (level 5) or equivalent accreditation is desirable.
* Experience in undertaking training needs analysis and delivering train the trainer.
* Ability to understand and implement the internal and external training assessment standards and requirements.
* Excellent leadership and people development skills.
* Demonstrable excellent presentation, communication, and influencing skills, as well as the ability to manage senior customers with competing priorities within tight deadlines.
