About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a progressive and friendly team. This is a varied role, ideal for someone who enjoys both the fast pace of a hospital setting and building client relationships in a branch environment.
The hospital is fully equipped with advanced facilities, including a CT scanner, referral-level ultrasound, dedicated dental x-ray unit, in-house NHS-level laboratory, seven endoscopes, ICU incubators, and underfloor-heated kennels and cattery. With a feline-friendly accreditation, patient comfort and welfare are a priority.
Nurses are actively involved in complex procedures, inpatient care, anaesthesia, diagnostics, and running nurse clinics, allowing full utilisation of skills and development within advanced nursing niches. The practice also boasts certificate holders in Cardiology, Medicine, Surgery, Dermatology, and Orthopaedics, providing an excellent learning environment.
Work-life balance is key, with no night shifts, a fair weekend rota (1 in 4 weekends, with time off in lieu), and flexible working options. The team also enjoys a supportive culture, regular staff events, and a fantastic social environment for those who wish to get involved.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assisting in a busy, well-equipped practice.
2. Monitoring anaesthesia, inpatient care, diagnostics, and assisting in complex procedures.
3. Running nurse clinics, providing client education, and building strong client relationships.
4. Working alongside certificate holders and referral-level vets, gaining exposure to advanced cases.
5. Ensuring high standards of patient care, infection control, and practice hygiene.
What They're Looking For
1. Qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse (RCVS registered).
2. Enthusiastic, proactive, and eager to develop within an advanced nursing role.
3. Strong communication skills to work effectively with the team and clients.
4. Ability to adapt and embrace variety in the role.
5. A passion for delivering outstanding patient care and working collaboratively.
