The Performance Team is responsible for the delivery of the functions of Freedom of Information, Environmental Information Regulations and Data Protection to the public in line with the relevant legislation and national guidance.
The purpose of this role is to support the Information and Policy Officer with the administration of freedom of information and environmental information regulation requests. Together with requests for personal information made by individuals and organisations. This is a great post within the Council for getting to know about the varied work that the Council does. The post-holder will come into contact with many departmental colleagues and gain an excellent insight into how local government works. It also provides an opportunity to develop a career in information access and data protection compliance. Duties include logging and acknowledging requests for information under the relevant legislation, seeking and verifying information held by the Council and drafting customer responses based on that information.
The Performance Team is a joint team providing services to North East Derbyshire District Council as well as Bolsover District Council. The post-holder may be required to undertake work on behalf of North East Derbyshire District Council and visit or work from their offices at Mill Lane, Wingerworth, on occasion.
To be successful you will need:
1. Good standard of numeracy and literacy skills and use of English language (or equivalent) in order to fulfil job role; good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication for dealing with officers, members, customers, public and external organisations.
2. Basic knowledge of Freedom of Information Act, Data Protection Act and Environmental Information Regulations.
3. Practical experience in dealing with correspondence, interpreting information and presenting findings in appropriate formats such as Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as the maintenance of computerised records.
4. Ability to work to deadlines and comply with legislative guidance, processes, and procedures.
5. Positive and enthusiastic approach with tact and discretion at all times in order to maintain confidentiality.
The post is office-based at The Arc, Clowne however there is potential for agile working, home, home/office subject to operational requirements.
