Are you an experienced EICA Engineer looking for your next career move? Join a leading EPC contractor who play a key role in delivering cutting-edge engineering projects across multiple sectors, including Process & Water, Energy, Defence, Oil & Gas, and Nuclear. Due to continued success and new Framework awards, this company are expanding their Innovation, Design & Solutions (IDS) team and seeking a Principal EICA Design Engineer to join our Southampton office.
The Role
As a Principal EICA Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and development of projects within sectors including:
✔ Water Treatment
✔ Water Distribution & Storage
✔ Wastewater Recycling
✔ Desalination
✔ Flood Defence
You will be involved in all project phases, from feasibility studies to detailed design and construction support, working closely with clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
🔹 Design Leadership – Manage the design of EICA systems across multiple water industry projects
🔹 Health & Safety – Promote a safety-first culture and develop design risk assessments
🔹 Project Coordination – Interpret client requirements and coordinate site condition surveys
🔹 Technical Design Development – Produce key electrical and control & automation design
Deliverables, including:
* MCC specifications/datasheets
* Power distribution system modelling (EOM)
* Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), Block Cable Diagrams (BCDs), Connection Diagrams
* Load schedules, cable schedules, instrument schedules
* Process control philosophies & User Requirement Specifications (URS)
🔹 Vendor Management – Review and integrate vendor data into designs
🔹 Site Support – Provide technical support during installation and commissioning
🔹 Innovation & Excellence – Drive technical innovation, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to new design methodologies
What We’re Looking For
✔ BTEC/HNC/HND/BEng qualification in EICA Engineering or equivalent experience
✔ Proven experience in multi-discipline engineering projects
✔ Background in the Water Industry (preferred)
✔ Strong communication and leadership skills
