Our client is a growing engineering consultancy and looking for an Intermediate Fire Engineer to join their team. They provide innovative, compliant, and practical fire engineering solutions across a range of diverse projects. Key Responsibilities:
Develop fire engineering strategies in accordance with BS 9999, BS 7974, and Approved Document B.
Design and assess active fire protection systems such as sprinklers, water mist, and gaseous suppression.
Conduct fire risk assessments and offer expert fire safety advice.
Assist with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling and fire simulations as needed.
Collaborate with clients, architects, and regulatory bodies to ensure project compliance.
Prepare technical reports, fire safety statements, and evacuation strategies.
Support senior engineers in project execution and mentor junior team members.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Degree in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline (BEng/MEng/MSc).
2-5 years of experience in fire engineering consultancy or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of fire safety regulations such as BS 9999, BS 7974, and Approved Document B.
Experience with fire suppression systems (sprinklers, water mist, gaseous systems).
Familiarity with AutoSprink, PyroSim, FDS, CFAST is advantageous (but not essential).
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is a plus.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
