Teaching Personnel is recruiting a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join our team in a local Penarth SEN school, supporting KS3 and KS4 students with special educational needs. This is a full-time position starting in January 2025, ideal for an individual who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people and is prepared for a rewarding yet challenging role.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide essential classroom support to students in KS3 and KS4, adapting learning materials to meet diverse needs.
* Work closely with the class teacher to manage behavior and ensure a positive, disruption-free learning environment.
* Offer encouragement, patience, and empathy, supporting students in developing essential skills and confidence.
* Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s learning requirements.
* Help foster an inclusive and supportive classroom setting.
Ideal Candidate Attributes:
* Resilience: A calm and committed approach to helping students overcome challenges.
* Patience: The ability to offer consistent support and understanding to students with complex needs.
* Adaptability: Able to adjust to various learning styles and classroom dynamics.
* Experience: Prior experience working with SEN students is highly desirable, but a positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn are equally important.
Requirements:
* Relevant experience in a similar role is beneficial.
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
* Availability to start full-time from January 2025.
