An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in our Community Nursing teams in Brighton & Hove East locality Team. We are proud of the quality holistic care we provide to the population of Brighton and Hove and focus on self-management with patients using a proactive care approach. The team works closely with a multidisciplinary network of health, social, and third sector staff including Specialist Nurses, hospitals, hospices, and GP surgeries.
Main duties of the job
This post is ideal for somebody who would like the opportunity to experience community work or develop their interests in the community setting further. The role incorporates the day-to-day management of patients within the community under the supervision of the Community Sisters, charge nurses, and Clinical Lead, involving a variety of skills including wound care, continence management, palliative care, health promotion, venepuncture, IV therapy, and more. Training will be available, and candidates will be supported with an induction and a personal development plan. Full support will be given to those without community experience to gain the necessary skills required. We would also welcome newly qualified nurses who will be fully supported with preceptorship.

We are a supportive and forward-thinking team with clinical direction provided by a Clinical Lead, overseen by the Operational Team Lead and Clinical Service Manager for Brighton and Hove.
You must be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team. The team uses SystmOne mobile working. You must hold a full driving licence and have the use of a car for work purposes.

Person Specification
Registration
* Registered Nursing Part 1 (Current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council)
* 1 year post-registration experience in Community Nursing
Knowledge
* Good communication and negotiation skills
* Good numeracy and literacy skills
* Demonstrates competency in a range of clinical skills
* Knowledge of clinical governance, clinical audit, and professional codes of conduct
* Commitment to life-long learning and development
Clinical Skills
* Ability to demonstrate a wide range of clinical skills e.g. wound care, palliative care, medicines management, and IV administration.
Organisation
* Ability to organise workload, delegate appropriately, take initiative, and make decisions.
* Car driver and access to a car for work purposes.
