Newly Weds Foods Banbury
The Banbury site has been part of the Newly Weds Foods family since 2010. During that time our employee team has grown, and we now employ over 250 people. We have a Bakery, Blend factory and a dedicated Gluten Free factory. We operate over a range of shifts in our production facilities, have on site services including a QA team, Engineers, Supply Chain, Logistics, Payroll and HR and we also have a dedicated on-site R&D team.
The Position
You will be responsible for ensuring that the Newly Weds Foods (NWF) site in Banbury is adhering to the health, safety and environmental policies that we have in place and that all required checks, testing and maintenance is carried out, on time, by the relevant people on site. Undertaking specialist H&S assessments and provide advice, guidance and support to the site by bringing the systems, protocols and practice to the required standards.
Responsibilities:
* Assist in compliance reviews; ensuring that management generate, review and issue risk and other safety assessments that underpin the integrity of HS&E policy.
* Implement and manage HS&E programs, policies and procedures, identifying areas of non-compliance and opportunities for improvement.
* Perform facility HS&E inspections and audits to ensure both legal and corporate compliance.
* Schedule and conduct regular HS&E meetings as determined necessary and use this to develop and encourage opportunities for employee involvement with HS&E management.
* Work with staff to encourage and promote safe working practices and an open reporting culture.
* Ensure you remain up to date with new legislation and provide evidenced CPD: You are expected to uphold a working knowledge of all legislation and any developments that affect the industry.
Person specification
* IOSH Membership (TechSP minimum) working towards GradIOSH/CMIOSH with evidenced CPD.
* Minimum of 3 years experience in a Health, Safety and Environment position.
* Accident Investigation and exploitation of data.
* Risk Assessment experience.
* Common sense and practical approach to Health & Safety.
* Good organisational and planning skills.
* Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and to be numerate.
* Ability to problem solve.
