Executive Jet Support Ltd is a world leading provider of commercial aircraft, engines and airframe components to almost 300 operators in over 50 countries across the globe. We aim to develop long-term relationships and build trust and loyalty with our customers. We are a 30 year old family-based company that is driven by pride in our company and pride in the support we provide for our customers.
To support the business with the current workload and in line with our expansion plans, we have the need to appoint a Business Development Manager on a permanent basis.
This is a new senior, standalone role, reporting directly to the CEO and COO. We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking and driven individual who brings a wealth of aviation trading experience gleaned over a number of years in a similar position.
The successful candidate will be able to integrate, collaborate and offer support to the many facets of the company by driving sales, promoting our brand, enhancing our reputation, and extending our customer base with airlines, lessors, MROs and brokers.
The successful candidate should be able to use their technical expertise, leverage their contacts and industry wide knowledge to monetise and enhance our assets, add value to the team and facilitate growth.
You will also be instrumental in driving acquisition decisions in alignment with the strategic goals of the company.
Key Responsibilities
* Bring significant aviation acumen to supplement and enhance the management level of the company and to influence the company’s commercial direction
* Help build and maintain strong customer relationships and networks with our current clients to facilitate further growth and unlock opportunities
* Bring a significant new client list to supplement our existing client list, engaging new clients to build relationships and new sales opportunities across our currently supported aircraft types
* Supplement current management contacts in the airline and lessor world to increase the opportunities available for the company to purchase regional, narrow and widebody aircraft for disassembly, as well as engines and component packages for sale, to help company maintain a minimum purchasing level of 12 aircraft per year across various regional, narrow and widebody types
* Assist the company to grow their nascent engine team specialising in regional aircraft engines (CF34-8/10, PW120, PW150). Some familiarity and knowledge in any of these engine types would be advantageous
* Assist the company to grow their nascent landing gear team specialising in regional, narrow and widebody landing gears
* Assist the company in growing their expanding third-party repair work team
* Identify and visit potential new and existing customers in person
* Identify purchase and sale opportunities by monitoring changing trends, economic indicators, competitors, supply and demand
* Identify growth areas within our markets by aligning organisational capabilities with market needs, converting these into tangible leads and opportunities
* Maintain professional, technical and industry knowledge by reviewing professional and industry specific publications
* Cultivate personal networks by attending annual tradeshows and conferences
* Regularly assess client needs, challenges and opportunities and tailor proposals and solutions to deliver meaningful and measurable results
* Analyse data and provide thoughtful insight to aid in the continued development of the teams while also ensuring metrics and objectives are achieved
* Participate in regular meetings with leadership to review internal updates, team and individual sales goals, potential growth opportunities or areas of the business to place focus
* Demonstrate professionalism and value across all areas of the business
* Coach, support and develop members of the sales team
* Promote and drive the EJS brand
Experience, knowledge and skills required
* Extensive experience in the aviation industry
* Wealth of contacts across the airline, lessor and MRO world
* Knowledge and experience of the engine or landing gear world is advantageous
* Strong prospecting, closing and follow-up skills
* Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to influence at all levels
* Excellent interpersonal and networking skills
* Highly organised, good attention to detail and the ability to multitask
* Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
* Cultivates and maintains strong business relationships
* Ability to train and coach others
