Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for caring, compassionate and enthusiastic Clinical Support Workers in our Emergency Departments at Doncaster Royal Infirmary and Bassetlaw Hospital. We are looking for highly motivated and passionate individuals who are committed to caring and supporting patients presenting with emergencies. You will work within the emergency team, providing support and assistance to the Nursing and Medical staff, in the assessment and treatment of patients requiring emergency intervention/treatment. As a Clinical Support Worker within the Emergency Department, you will be a valued member of the team, providing high quality care to patients, in a professional, compassionate and competent manner. You will be able to contribute ideas and support clinical initiatives in order to provide evidence based patient care. Main duties of the job As a Clinical Support worker, you will provide support and assistance to nursing and medical staff, in the assessment and treatment of patients requiring emergency intervention/treatment. The role requires that you are competent in performing clinical skills, including, venepuncture, recording an ECG, and cannulation and are willing to undertake further training in other skills essential to the emergency department. It is also essential to support patients with fundamental aspects of care such as basic hygiene needs, toileting, mobilising and nutritional needs. Demonstrating at all times respect for privacy and dignity. The role of the clinical support worker will require excellent communication and organisational skills, to provide a flexible, efficient and effective service.
