Job Overview
Supply and replenish consumables, i.e., paper towels, toilet rolls, soap, etc.
1. Clean and maintain floor areas/surfaces using the appropriate equipment.
2. Remove and re-hang shower curtains.
3. Clean and maintain cleaning store and equipment.
4. As determined by supervision/management, respond to any requests for an ad hoc and specialist cleaning service.
5. Report any mechanical defects, pest sightings or building/environment faults to ward/department staff or a supervisor or manager.
6. Collect and return keys after securing doors, windows and exits.
7. Use and care of approved cleaning materials and equipment at all times in accordance with operator instructions. Ensure that all equipment and materials are used, cleaned, and stored safely in compliance with COSHH Regulations.
8. Maintain appropriate levels of chemicals and equipment in area of work.
9. Regularly check machinery and equipment, changing filters when necessary and reporting faults as required.
10. Undertake all cleaning duties in a safe manner using Hazard signs as appropriate.
11. Work schedules prepared by the manager based on National Cleaning Services/Contractual Specifications will be adhered to as far as possible.
12. There may be a requirement to undertake some catering related duties – dishwashing, making of toast, distribution of breakfast items and patient beverages where applicable.
Floor Team (Additional Duties)
Role summary: To deliver the floor cleaning plan and to maintain a clean and hygienic environment for Trust staff, patients, and their visitors in line with the National Standards of Cleanliness.
1. To work on the scrubbing of floors and cleaning of carpets in line with the floor cleaning plan and client request as notified.
2. To deliver a full cleaning service to wards, offices, and departments within the hospital at the prescribed times as dictated by the helpdesk, Supervisory & Management Teams, in accordance with Work Schedules (if applicable) and activity within the area, using own initiative to plan workload and ensuring that all tasks are closed down appropriately upon completion.

Pay: £12.08-£12.09 per hour
