We are looking to appoint a Stock and Stores Coordinator for our Cellular Pathology Laboratory in Ysbyty Glan Clwyd.
You will be part of a fast-paced and innovative department, working alongside qualified scientists and aiding them in ensuring environmental monitoring and stock needs are met, as well as leading in maintaining the department's archive store.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
You'll be expected to work autonomously in many sections of the department as well as alongside the Senior BMS staff to ensure that laboratory stores are managed appropriately, that environmental monitoring is conducted, and that the department's archive is maintained to assure day-to-day laboratory duties can be sustained.
Key duties will include:
* Monitor department's stock levels and ensure stock is accessible to the end user.
* Receive, log, check, store, and update records pertaining to reagents and consumables.
* Ordering, receipting, and reporting of issues with stock and supplies. Support the laboratory with carrying out reagent acceptance criteria as per ISO 15189 to achieve and maintain UKAS accreditation.
* Monitor and troubleshoot the laboratory's temperature control system (Check-it) and environmental monitoring, such as formalin and xylene levels.
* Responsibility for organizing archived material on all sites, including relocating work to off-site storage facilities.
* Assist management team in writing and reviewing departmental SOPs. Maintain and monitor the storerooms within the lab and the outside storeroom as well as the off-site storage facilities.
* Dispose of samples and reagents in accordance with RCPath guidelines and liaise with necessary departments on the disposal and removal of waste.

Person Specification
Qualifications and/or Knowledge
* NVQ Level 3 in a science-related subject or in a procurement/stock control/stores related discipline or possess equivalent qualification or demonstrate skills, knowledge, and experience to equivalency.
* Knowledge of COSHH.
* Good level of numeracy and literacy.
* Knowledge of Oracle computer system.
Experience
* Experience of working in a busy environment and dealing with deliveries and orders.
* Significant experience working within a stock control environment.
* Previous experience working in a Laboratory.
Skills
* Well organized and able to apply a logical approach to problem-solving.
* IT literate with good keyboard skills.
* Excellent communication and organizational skills.
* Ability to work unsupervised.
* Willing to develop individual knowledge.
* Welsh Speaking.
Knowledge
* Stock control experience and the use of ordering systems.
* Knowledge of the BCUHB's information system.
* Ability to work as a member of a team, flexibility.
* Can work on own initiative.

£24,433 to £26,060 per annum, pro rata.
