My client based in Abingdon is looking for a Manual Turner Operator / Setter to join their busy team due to expansion.
PURPOSE OF JOB: to set up and operate a large VTL machine to the optimum safe method.
Key requirements:
1. VTL
2. Large machining
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Setting and operating Manual Turning Machines.
2. Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to enable programming, setting and manufacture to achieve a right first-time product.
3. Creating layout sheets to document tooling, tools, set ups and machine parameters to achieve repeatable results.
4. Ability to work independently to achieve exceptional high standards and deadlines.
5. Able to qualify and document own work using a variety of measuring equipment.
6. Ability and willingness to support and train others.
7. To work safely using the appropriate PPE and maintain a safe and organised workplace.
8. To continuously improve and provide time/cost saving ideas to supervisor wherever possible.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE required:
1. Time served apprenticeship preferred but not necessary.
2. Minimum of 5 years programming and operating 3, 4 & 5 Axis CNC machines preferred.
3. Experience in Heidenhain and Fanuc controls preferable but not required.
4. Previous experience on Doosan, Matsuura, Mazak.
5. Trained in overhead crane training & manual handling beneficial but not essential as training can be provided.
6. Good communication skills are essential.
7. Reliable with a positive can-do attitude.
8. Focus on quality (right first time) and productivity essential.
9. Able to flex and support an ever-changing business.
10. Strong work ethic essential.
