What is the role?
As Southampton Football Club’s Partnership Sales Lead you will own the sales process from start to finish and increase the partnership portfolio of the Club through existing and new revenue streams. You will manage a Partnerships Sales Manager and work directly with brands and agencies to sell a range of rights and assets on behalf of the Club. The role will be required to work matchdays across Men’s and Women’s games and report into the Head of Partnerships.
What will you be doing?
This role will lead the partnership sales process from start to finish, securing new commercial partners for Southampton Football Club. As part of this, you will identify key markets and brands, using a variety of outreach methods such as networking, matchday interactions, and direct outreach to build a strong sales pipeline. You will create tailored proposals that align with potential partners' business objectives and showcase the full range of opportunities available at the club.
Working closely with the Head of Partnerships, you will help manage budgets, grow revenue, and develop new sales opportunities. You will collaborate with departments across the club to enhance sponsorship offerings, including ticketing, digital rights, promotional activities, and matchday exposure. Additionally, you will manage and support the Partnership Sales Manager by providing clear objectives and direction, while sharing your knowledge and expertise to foster strong connections and collaboration with our regional business community.
You will negotiate and finalise partnership agreements, supported by the Head of Partnerships to conclude commercial terms and contracts. You will also collaborate with third-party agencies to strengthen and align the club’s sales approach. Throughout the season, you will support the activation of partner campaigns, ensuring sponsorships deliver maximum value while developing your knowledge of the club’s assets and rights.
Is this you?
You have extensive experience in sales within the sports industry, with a proven track record in securing and managing commercial partnerships. You’re skilled in managing budgets and leading on partnership P&L to ensure financial success.
As an effective communicator, you’re confident in presenting to stakeholders and take a determined, results-driven approach to achieving your goals. You enjoy collaborating across all areas of the club, supporting all partnership opportunities from VIK to on kit opportunities.
