Kinetic Recruitment are currently resourcing for a permanent Buyer to work in Gateshead at our client's engineering facility. As a Buyer, you will be responsible for an array of procurement activities, from materials to commodities and services, ensuring deliveries are on time, to cost and quality.
The Role:
1. Following up with suppliers
2. Expediting purchase orders
3. Manage purchase order confirmations
4. Invoice reconciliation
5. Contact vendors when there are discrepancies
6. Updating the team and stakeholders about any delays or problems with suppliers
7. Stock control and to buy reports
8. Researching new products and suppliers
9. Negotiating contracts with suppliers
10. Presenting cost analyses to the department
11. Maintaining records of supplier contracts
12. Staying up to date with industry & market trends
13. Maintaining strong relationships with vendors
14. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
15. Personal development and training (CIPS)
16. Any other duties as requested or assigned by the Purchasing Manager
Skills and Experience:
1. Purchasing or Supply Chain related qualification or working towards
2. Experience in a buying or procurement role
3. Manufacturing environment experience would be beneficial
4. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
5. Fully on-site
