The existing Respiratory team at University Hospital Crosshouse provide a broad range of specialist respiratory services for the population of North Ayrshire, East Ayrshire and Arran. We require expansion in the consultant workforce to meet an increasing demand for specialist services. The team at University Hospital Crosshouse work closely with our colleagues in University Hospital Ayr. There are teaching and research links with the University of Glasgow and Glasgow teaching hospitals. The duties of the post are biased towards the provision of specialist respiratory services. There is an active programme of postgraduate education in which all doctors are invited and encouraged to participate. A one-year education programme for newly appointed consultants covering all topics relevant to the work as a consultant is offered. Appropriate time, support and development will be provided to allow the successful individual to flourish and realise their professional and personal ambitions and to shape the future clinical service.
