This is an excellent opportunity to influence the technical direction of a company that has taken the headaches and hassle out of vehicle maintenance, by creating the UK’s largest car maintenance marketplace.
Paying £100k per annum, this role is predominantly remote and only requires 1 day a week in Reading.
You will be responsible for driving technical initiatives and ensuring alignment with technology strategy, as well as providing guidance and advice on any all matters that impact development and the product roadmap.
Duties
* Drive the technical vision and strategy for the company
* Review current technologies to assess suitability and explore new technologies to further enhance services and generate competitive advantage
* Work with the Frontend, Backend and Data Architects to ensure the core architecture is maintained, efficient and scalable
* Manage and mentor a cross-functional team of 15 developers and QA staff, providing guidance, support, and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
* Lead the business's use of the AWS platform
* Ensure best practices, quality standards, and regulatory requirements are adhered to.
* Ensure scalability, security and reliability of solutions.
* Manage priorities considering risk to business, roll-out deadlines and ROI
* Ensure consistent ways of working, timely SLAs and communication on progress
* Create accurate timelines for the development and deployment of any launches, improvements and fixes
* Ensure robust cyber security measures are in place
* Develop and implement strategies to mitigate any risks to the company's systems/data
Requirements
* Solid experience in a Software Management role with strong people management skills
* Experience of web technologies, specifically Typescript (NextJS & NodeJS)
* Good understanding of AWS platforms & Kubernetes-based infrastructure
* Experience with driving an organisation's technological vision, strategies, and execution
* Skilled in management processes such as business and organisation planning, change management, influencing multi-functional teams, communication and training
* Experience working closely with product leaders in an Agile environment
* History of maintaining and ensuring the technology stack is both maintained and in-line with technology advancements, including optimal emerging approaches within the product-technology implementation space
* Strong experience in EU/global technology rollouts is an advantage
