A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for a strong candidate to support teaching and learning at Green Lane Infant School. The School seeks to appoint an organised, enthusiastic and rounded individual to work in the classroom and cover colleagues across the school.
This role will best suit experienced, positive and flexible candidates who have worked in educational settings, ideally leading groups of children in work such as interventions or cover within classes. This would be a perfect opportunity for candidates looking to gain experience towards a future career in teaching.
Candidates will:
• Deliver lessons in the absence of the teacher
• Liaise with teaching staff regarding the work set for assigned classes
• Liaise with pastoral staff as necessary
• Deliver the curriculum by effectively communicating the work set to pupils
• Ensure that the required resources needed in order to deliver the covered lessons are available
• Manage the behaviour of pupils and ensure a positive learning environment
• Deal with any immediate problems or emergencies in accordance with school policy and procedures
• Collect and mark completed work after the lesson and return it to the appropriate teacher
• Maintain a safe and positive environment for all learners
• Create opportunities for all learners to reach their potential, irrespective of ability
• Ensure the health, safety and welfare of pupils/students is maintained at all times
