We are currently recruiting for our client in Coventry for a Geotechnical Estimator. This role can be a Hybrid / Remote or Coventry office based. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Key tasks are, but are not limited to: - Prepare bills of quantities / schedule of rates for tender applications. - Keeping close track on mark up and margins expected for each project. - Liaise with the Company Estimating and Pre‐Construct Team, Clients and Project Managers. - Attending pre‐contract meetings, liaise with a wide range of construction professionals, and ensure timely completion of agreed actions. - Review contents of tender documentation and ensure all tender correspondence is logged. - Ensure project estimates are in line with legislation. - Submit subcontractor enquiries and review tender submissions. - Review contract conditions and negotiate with Client where necessary. - Report to Estimating Manager. EDUCATION & TRAINING ·BSc in appropriate subject Geotechnical, Geology Project Management Quantity Surveying ·CSCS Card ·Additional training will be provided (Contract, Evaluate Software training) KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE You will be involved in activities including but not limited to; compiling and submitting tender submissions, ensuring all tender correspondence is recorded and logged, reviewing contents of tender preparation, preparing tender queries and clarifications, and reviewing subcontract tender submissions. The ideal candidate will be an engineer with 2 to 3 years site experience in ground engineering, or an Estimator with some experience in ground engineering or geotechnical investigations. You will also have an interest in the construction market and some experience in the various forms of construction contracts (ICE and NEC) will be most useful. We will also welcome responses from any experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to move into an Estimating Role. SKILLS & ABILITIES The Ideal Person May Have or be: - Geotechnical or Structural Engineer with 2 to 3 years site experience - Estimator with experience in geotechnical engineering - Quantity Surveyor with experience in geotechnical engineering - Experience creating proposals and ensuring estimate deadlines are met. - Cost management & report writing. - Good motivational, communication and people management skills - Experience managing commercial aspects of projects. - Excellent report writing skills with the ability to self‐check and produce accurate deliverables. - Team player, self‐starter and problem solver with a mature approach. - Flexible to travel for short assignments. - Ability to work as part of a larger operations team. - Teams, Excel, Outlook and Dynamics 365 HOURS 40 hours per week Standard Office Hours Monday to Friday with flexibility.
