The project:
This role is to work within the higher education sector in the Northwest, based out of the Mace Manchester office to deliver a number of different types of projects from Infrastructure works, enabling, refurbishment, and new build either as part of a growing team or with new clients with the opportunity to be part of a growing sector in the Northwest.
You'll be responsible for:
* Overseeing project reporting and recording procedures with the client and the professional team and contractor.
* Managing and ensuring integration of multiple workstreams including highways and built environment, monitoring, decant, and enabling projects.
* Monitoring the performance of the professional team and the contractor and reporting to the client.
* Liaising with the professional team and preparing regular/monthly quality, cost, and programme reports.
* Leading on technical negotiations with contractor and consultants.
* Advising the client of any decisions required and obtaining authorization.
* Providing strategic thinking and forward planning to the project across all work streams.
* Setting up and chairing regular professional team, stakeholder, client, and site progress meetings and reporting on weekly project and commercial progress.
* Managing and developing the team to ensure aims are met and staff are supported and motivated.
* Assessing resources available on a regular basis and bringing in additional support/specialist expertise.
* Managing, monitoring, and coordinating all key aspects of the project, including but not limited to, cost, value, risk, logistics, neighbor relations, statutory consents, safety, quality, M&E, design, stakeholder engagement, and environment.
* Establishing and monitoring appropriate project operating procedures and systems, specifically ensuring the quality management plan is being followed and adhered to.
* Ensuring close out and practical completion schedules are completed and issued.
* Implementing where applicable Soft-Landing process from inception to after-care.
* Preparing detailed project plan and providing financial reports on time (forecasts, budgets, income, fees, etc.).
* Establishing and monitoring sustainability goals and reporting internally and externally.
* Working internally with quality managers and finance team.
* Reviewing and highlighting resourcing needs to project director.
* Promoting Mace services to existing clients, seeking opportunity to diversify Mace offer across project management and practices groups.

You'll need to have:
* Proven experience in project management, managing small to medium, and large sized projects.
* Developed communication, presentation, and project planning and development skills.
* Developed budgetary oversight expertise.
* Advanced proficiency in communicating, coordinating activities, and collaborating with stakeholders.
* Proven understanding of project management methodologies and practices.
* Display strong communication and negotiation skills to support the client/customer focus.
* Proactively manage internal budgets and fees, delivering agreed outcomes.
* Proven competency that understands construction methodologies and sequencing.
* Proficient knowledge and expertise in specific sector/market of project/role.
* Relevant technical qualification/certification for project portfolio/s.
* Sound technical expertise in health and safety executive (HSE) rules and specific sector/market regulations relevant to project portfolio.
* Knowledge of consultancy, construction, infrastructure, and property sectors/markets and an understanding of estimating, scheduling, contracts administration, procurement, commercial controls, and reporting.
* Seeks opportunities for implementing improved working practices.

* Manages relevant stakeholders for project/s.
* Develops effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Uses advanced communication skills to collaborate with others to guide others to achieve project key performance indicators (KPIs).
* Good interpersonal skills to prepare reports, negotiate, and build relationships with key stakeholders.
* Problem-solving and analytical skills for resolving planning, estimating, contract administration, and procurement issues within construction and design activities.
