THE ROLE IN SHORT:
Our Engineering Managers play a crucial role in fostering engineering excellence within our development teams. Our mission is to cultivate a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. By providing strategic direction, mentorship, and support, we empower our engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions efficiently and effectively.
By streamlining processes, optimizing resources, and driving productivity, we enable our teams to consistently exceed business objectives and deliver outstanding value to our customers.
WHAT WILL I BE DOING:
* Manages multiple agile squads (~1-5 squads) as a servant leader.
* Line management of the development team based in the UK.
* Drives squad efficiency by optimizing workflows and development processes.
* Acts as a Release Train Engineer (RTE), ensuring smooth execution and delivery.
* Coaches squads on agile methodologies and software development best practices.
* Supports squads in delivering high-impact value to customers and the business.
* Collaborates with Product Management, Architecture, DevOps, and QA teams to align on delivery goals.
* Establishes and tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure software quality, cycle time, and deployment frequency.
* Ensures adherence to security best practices and compliance standards within the SaaS environment.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL YOU WILL LIKELY HAVE:
* 10-15 years of experience in software development, with a significant portion in leadership roles such as Team Lead, Tech Lead, or Engineering Manager.
* Strong technical background, with hands-on experience in software development, and proficiency in relevant programming languages, tools, and technologies.
* Deep understanding of cloud-native development and modern CI/CD practices.
* Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
* Proven ability to mentor and coach junior developers, collaborate cross-functionally, and provide technical strategy and direction.
* Experience in driving process improvements, implementing agile best practices, and fostering continuous delivery environments.
* Experience in line management and performance management of engineering teams.
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
* Experience working with globally distributed teams.
* Knowledge of Scaled Agile Frameworks is a plus.
* French language skills are a plus.
