Job Title: Pensions Investment Oversight Manager Location: Frimley, Surrey. Salary: Up to £60,000 depending on skills and experience What you’ll be doing: Oversight of services provided by the investment manager and global custodian and participation in service review meetings and further development of reporting against KPI metrics Ensuring all investment asset reporting requirements are delivered to stakeholders – this including corporate and pension scheme accounting, and any other asset values for reporting or modelling purposes Liaising with external auditors in relation to queries on investment asset reporting, and disclosure requirements Oversight of the valuation processes and the controls required to review the validity of private markets valuation statements for the relevant assets, and ensuring policy complies with current requirements Managing all stakeholder queries in relation to investment assets, liaising with other team members and management of the delivery of work when support is sought from others Building an understanding of the processes in place with the providers and working together to enhance or streamline processes Supporting the accuracy of the disclosures in the relevant financial statements, both in the BAE Systems plc accounts and also pension scheme accounts Your skills and experiences: Fully qualified accountant – ACA, CIMA, or ACCA Investment accounting experience Experience with Pension Scheme accounting Understanding of different investment classes i.e. property, private markets, derivatives, equities Knowledge of accounting disclosure requirements for investment assets within corporate accounts and pension scheme accounts Benefits: As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts – you may also be eligible for an annual incentive. The Pensions Finance team: An exciting, newly created role within a small, dynamic team that is part of the larger in-house Pensions team. Reporting into the Head of Pensions Finance, you’ll have the opportunity to oversee the governance and controls required for the valuation and reporting of a substantial portfolio of investment assets owned by the pension schemes. This interesting role offers a broad range of responsibilities and exposure to senior stakeholders and trustees of the pension schemes.
