Short Summary
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this position leads day-to-day commercial financial management of the EMEA business, producing insightful financial reporting, analysis, planning, and forecasting for Magentus Software Limited and associated entities. As a trusted business partner, this role will collaborate with business leadership and their teams, provide analysis to guide decision-making, communicate timely financial performance, highlight opportunities, and support data-driven strategy development.
Key Responsibilities of the role:
* Work closely with the commercial teams, developing a deep understanding of the operating models, market environment, and strategic objectives to contribute effectively to business strategy.
* Provide analytical financial reporting including actual, budget, and forecast analysis across the P&L, project profitability, and R&D reporting.
* Maintain appropriate cost models and work closely with the commercial and sales teams to ensure that new business opportunities are accurately costed.
* Deliver robust financial models for complex business plans, assessing growth opportunities and recommending optimal actions.
* Manage the sales commission programs.
* Oversee financial processes, including weekly, monthly, and quarterly results reporting and analysis, to provide leadership with clear, actionable insights.
* Proactively identify risks and opportunities, quantifying their impact and supporting leadership in taking corrective actions as needed.
* Collaborate with teams to build data-driven forecasts, annual operating plans, and strategic plans aligned with business targets and ambitions.
* Conduct additional analytics and support projects relevant to commercial finance and business priorities.
* Work with Data Analytics to track and report KPIs, developing new metrics to measure success effectively.
* Maintain forecasts and budgets for contract renewals, sales opportunities, sales commissions, pricing, and rate cards.
Experience
* Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with substantial experience in commercial finance or a related field.
* Big 4 experience is highly desirable and would be a considerable advantage.
* Strong commercial awareness.
* Ability to lead discussions, present complex ideas clearly, and engage varied audiences effectively.
* Skilled in building collaborative partnerships with stakeholders across all levels to facilitate alignment and goal achievement.
* Proficient in handling large datasets, with expertise in financial modelling (advanced Excel essential).
* Adept at anticipating and resolving issues through structured planning and prioritisation.
* Proven ability to work to deadlines and to a high quality.
* Demonstrated capacity to contribute effectively as part of a team, and to work autonomously.
* High level of integrity, senior management style presentation, and communication skills.
* Positive leader who invests time in others and can work autonomously if needed, without supervision.
