Hours: 35 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Location: Hybrid - A blend of working from home and your nominated hub office, we have hubs in London, Bristol, Manchester and Oxford. Specific patterns for working in the office are not mandated, and the frequency of time worked in the office is agreed with your manager.

About the team:
The Software Development Group works closely with the different product families in Jisc to create products that meet their vision and the users’ requirements. They focus on technical innovation and software delivery, and pride themselves on building the right thing, and building the thing right.
About the role:
If you have a strong background in both software development and security, with a deep understanding of DevSecOps and DevOps principles and practices, then this role could be the one for you. You will work with software development teams to help them set up, secure, and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure, using infrastructure code solutions such as Terraform or CDK. The role will also require you to advise on security and monitoring services.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure teams are using the latest methods for developing secure applications and APIs and automate security testing.
* Be responsible for SAST (Static Application Security Testing), DAST (Dynamic Application Security Testing), and reviewing codes for security vulnerabilities.
* Help maintain our Cyber Essentials certification and work with other security teams.
Key Skills and Experience:
* Willingness and passion for learning new technology and the ability to work both independently and as an enthusiastic team member.
* Experience with cloud-based architectures, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
* Experience in security or penetration testing is advantageous.
* A strong background in Terraform or CDK is useful.
* Experience in building modern web applications or APIs, automation testing, and Cyber Essentials is also beneficial.
