We are seeking a passionate and skilled Bank Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our team on a flexible, bank basis.
Based at our Oldham Service, you will be expected to travel across various locations within the localities as needed.
In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering patient-centred care, offering a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on sexual health services across Greater Manchester.
Our Integrated Sexual Health Service, operating in Oldham, Bury, and Rochdale, is dedicated to empowering individuals with positive sexual health and wellbeing. We provide free, confidential, and non-judgemental services, including contraception, STI testing and treatment, and psychosexual management. As a Level 3 integrated contraception and sexual health service, we bring together expertise in Genitourinary Medicine (GUM) and Community Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care.
If you are committed to improving sexual health outcomes and hold the Accredited Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification or an equivalent MSc/Master’s level qualification with a Non-Medical Prescribing certification, we would love to hear from you.
Main Responsibility
As a Bank Advanced Nurse Practitioner, you will be responsible for some key areas below:
* To deliver integrated sexual health provision to clients of all ages and from a diverse range of cultural and social backgrounds.
* To work collaboratively with key team members to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of clinical sessions.
* To use your advanced expertise and clinical skills to independently manage both sexual health and reproductive health patients, including those with highly complex treatment and psycho-social needs.
* To supervise junior staff in a clinical setting.
* To arrange appropriate referrals and liaise with both statutory and voluntary agencies for those patients identified as having social/emotional problems, including complex issues around child protection and vulnerable adults.
* To contribute to the ongoing development of the department as a patient-focused positive learning environment.
Please see attached Job Description for full responsibilities.
The Ideal Candidate
As a Bank Advanced Nurse Practitioner, you will be a registered first-level nurse with specialized expertise in sexual health, including relevant specialist courses in contraception and a Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) qualification. You will hold an Accredited Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification or an equivalent MSc/Master’s level course, along with a Non-Medical Prescribing certification. A teaching qualification or equivalent experience, as well as evidence of recent, accredited professional development, is essential.
If you are caring, thoughtful, and passionate about making a difference in sexual health services—ensuring patient-centred care remains at the heart of everything you do—then this could be the perfect role for you!
While not essential, additional qualifications such as cytology training (competence in cervical cytology), a leadership qualification, or a health promotion qualification would be an advantage. However, training will be provided to support the development of these skills.
