You will need to work well within the team, and be able to use your own initiative.
This role is for Saturdays and Sundays on an adhoc basis
Morning shift -

Staff must be flexible to work morning or afternoon shift.
Main duties of the job
Provide weekend Reception cover for the Walk in Centre.
Support all clinical and Admin staff with general tasks as requested.
Independently greet patients, triagingthe patient in order to toassess urgency and appropriacy.
Monitor patient queues, dealing with patient queries, collection of blood forms, urine samples, private letters, deliveries, couriers etc. You will be required to deal with frustrated and angry patients in a calm, empathetic and courteous manner.
Opening up the surgery you will be responsiblefor de-activating the alarm, un-locking the main doors and follow check-list ofduties in the morning
Closing down the surgery, locking main doors/windows, ensuring side doors are closed, switching off computers/fans/heaters, changing door names, emptying shredding bins and tidying reception waiting area in preparation for the next day.

Weekend Tasks
Morning Patient Support Receptionists Tasks
- open upreception area
- log on receptioncomputers located on front desk
- unlockscripts box
- unlockpatient access entrance
- emptyletter box
Evening Patient Support Receptionists Tasks
- close downthe reception area
- log off allcomputers that have been used in reception, ensuring that all users are logged out ofclinical system
- lockscripts box
- ensurepatient access entrance is locked and automatic mechanism is disabled
- undertakesecurity checks of consulting rooms
In addition tothe above, you will be required to undertake the following additionalresponsibilities on completion of relevant training.
Scriptqueries. Dealing and resolving script issuesraised during the weekends.
Fridgetemperature Checking and recording fridge temperature. This is required to ensure the fridges withinthe centre are at the correct temperature, any problems to be reported to WICSupervisor or Practice Manager.
Contactingand making appointments for patients on QoF and/or Seasonal Flu lists and adhoc.
Checkingrooms on Sunday.
Adhoc duties.

Qualifications
Essential
1. Excellent customer service skills
2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
3. Good IT skills, understanding of Microsoft Office applications such as - word, excel etc.
4. An understanding, acceptance and adherence to the need for strict patient confidentiality.
5. Good time management
6. Able to demonstrate compassion, empathy and understanding.
Desirable
7. NVQ in Customer Service or Administration
8. NHS experience, ideally as a Medical Receptionist in General Practice
9. Familiar with SystmOne clinical system or experience of working with other electronic patient records.
