We have a post for a Clerical Officer supporting our team of host/hostess and retail team along with catering managerial team who work within Catering dept. at Royal Liverpool Hospital, ensuring that we provide an excellent food and patient/customer experience.

Support the team with the following:
1. Ensuring rosters are covered.
2. Allocation of work to catering assistants.
3. Liaise with management to ensure there is a continuation of service in the event of major staff shortages.
4. Prioritize urgent requests.
5. Authorize overtime within the allocated budget.
6. Carry out staff appraisals.
7. Input statistics and information from Records into a database and manage the system.
8. Liaise with manager to maintain a quality information system and identify potential flaws which would affect data.
9. Access the database to retrieve information and produce statistics and reports for the Trust.
10. General reception duties involving first contact with individuals attending the department, giving necessary information or referring them to the appropriate member of staff.
11. Communicate with all levels of staff in a polite and pleasant manner including dealing with telephone enquiries and requests and taking appropriate action.
12. Send out information to departments on request, but maintain confidentiality.
13. Responsible for stock control and ordering stationary as required from reprographics and stationers.
14. Provide clerical and administrative support for staff.
15. Organize and retrieve Notes required for the daily appointments.

To provide a localised catering service observing health, safety and hygiene procedures and maintaining high standards in all aspects.
To deliver good principles of customer care ensuring helpfulness, awareness and compassion to patients, visitors, staff and colleagues.
1. Regeneration of chilled/frozen food and preparation of sauces.
2. Preparation of patient meal trays.
3. Plating and service of cold and hot food items with meal delivery to patients, including service of condiments.
4. Probing and recording food temperatures.
5. Recording of equipment temperatures.
6. Beverage service to patients.
7. Washing and refilling of patient’s water jugs and beakers.
8. Take the patient orders and communicate the requirements to the catering department.
9. Clearing of meal trays, crockery and cutlery for all food areas.
10. Collection, segregation and disposal of catering waste materials.
11. Cleaning duties within the kitchen and other associated areas in accordance with departmental cleaning schedules to include equipment, work surfaces crockery and cutlery.
12. Ordering and receipt of goods from the main catering production unit in accordance with the agreed stock requirements ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained.
13. Completion of catering department procedural paperwork such as temperature checks and monitoring.
14. To undertake training as required to fulfil this role and any further training which will enhance both personal effectiveness and also the delivery of high standards of service.
15. Work co-operatively with colleagues as part of the team and perform additional duties as and when directed by the catering supervisor.
