Responsible to: Director of Therapy

Benefits: 27 days holiday (increasing to 30 days after 5 years of service) plus 4% matched pension contribution, Sick Scheme
BACKGROUND
The Helen Bamber Foundation is a busy charity supporting asylum seekers, refugees, victims of human trafficking and other human rights violations. Our specialist team of therapists, doctors and legal experts hold an international reputation for providing therapeutic care, medical consultation, legal protection, and practical support. The Helen Bamber Foundation is committed to safeguarding vulnerable adults and children.
We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist to join our therapy team.
As an experienced Clinical Psychologist at the Helen Bamber Foundation, you will report directly to the Director of Therapy. This role will include delivery of highly specialised psychological assessments for both medico-legal and clinical purposes, provision of appropriate evidence-based therapies, delivery of clinical supervision to qualified clinicians, assistant and trainee clinical psychologists on final year specialist placements, and non-clinical members of staff. The role may include input into policy, research and fundraising, and delivery of consultancy and training. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to access medico-legal training (if appropriately skilled), work within a dynamic, specialist MDT and have access to specialist trauma focussed therapy training.
Please note that whilst the role may include some hybrid working, the majority of the role requires the successful applicant to work in the (London based) Helen Bamber office.
We are looking for someone who is committed to working therapeutically with individuals who experience trauma spectrum disorders and other psychological difficulties as a result of surviving human rights abuses, separation from family, and/or post-migration stressors. In addition to proven experience in working therapeutically with this client group, the candidate will have a passion for human rights work beyond individual client work, and a desire to contribute to effecting change at a policy level. This role requires the ability to react and respond creatively and appropriately to the needs of the charity.
Please note that the successful candidate will be offered the role subject to suitable references and a DBS check. This role will require disclosure of both the adult and child barring lists. If appointed, you will be required to give your consent to HBF to receive regular updates on your criminal records status and to disclose any relevant convictions incurred during your time with us. You will also be subject to a public online search.
How to apply: Please submit an up-to-date CV and a covering letter by Monday 4th November 2024, outlining your relevant skills and experience, as well as how your previous experience matches the listed responsibilities and person specification to jobs@helenbamber.org
We reserve the right to close applications early should we receive sufficient applications for the role. Please state in your covering letter when you would be available to start the role.
Interviews are scheduled to be held on 14th November 2024.
We regret that we can only respond to applicants who make it to the interview stage. No agencies.
