A opportunity has arisen for an dynamic, motivated and enthusiastic Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join the Nairn, Aviemore Badenoch and Strathspey Community Mental Health team.
The CMHT is part of the secondary services providing assessment and treatment packages for a range of service users aged between 18-65 years with complex mental health needs. This post is based in Nairn but the post holder will undertake work from the Aviemore site.
The post holder will maintain a clinical case load and will work effectively in the multidisciplinary team. Have evidence of team working skills, excellent communication and organisational skills and an ability to work using own initiative and without direct supervision in the context of agreed tasks. The candidate should demonstrate knowledge of mental health illness and disorders and have an understanding of the legislation factors associated with community mental health working.
The candidate should have a commitment to involve patients and their carers in the delivery of evidence based, recovery focused interventions.
A Registered Mental Health Nurse qualification currently featuring on the Nursing and Midwifery Council register is required and supervision will be provided by the team lead.
A driving license is essential, and a pool car may be available, how applicants should have access to their own vehicle for work purposes.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
