A new and exciting opportunity has opened up for an experienced Process Engineer to join a well-established business in Leeds.
This company is a leader in manufacturing and supplying solutions to the renewable energy market, with a focus on cutting-edge, energy-efficient technology. Their flagship product helps save energy, reduce costs, and tackle the global challenge of minimizing energy wastage.
The Role:
As a Process Engineer, you will be responsible for optimizing and improving industrial processes within the Transformer Fitting Operations. This role is crucial to enhancing operational performance and ensuring production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Analyse current processes and implement improvements to boost performance.
2. Conduct time studies and analyse time spent on various shop floor operations.
3. Create routings for different product types or families.
4. Support the Production Planner by scheduling, releasing work orders, and ensuring all documentation is correctly uploaded in MRP/SharePoint.
5. Collaborate with Contracts and Engineering teams to ensure technical documentation is accurate and updated as needed.
6. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements across all industrial activities.
7. Update Contracts and Production teams on any changes or potential issues.
8. Lead LEAN workshops and participate in continuous improvement activities.
9. Attend relevant meetings to ensure efficient production flow and scheduling.
10. Identify root causes of issues and implement corrective actions.
11. Regularly review and update MRP data, including job logins and operation confirmations.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
1. Experience in process engineering within a manufacturing environment.
2. Strong knowledge of LEAN methodologies.
3. Proven track record of system and process improvements.
4. Strong communication skills, with the ability to challenge and collaborate effectively with peers.
5. Experience using ERP/MRP systems.
6. Flexibility to adapt to changes.
7. High attention to detail and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
8. Strong continuous improvement capabilities and a ‘can-do’ attitude.
Salary & Hours:
1. Salary: £38,000 - £42,000, depending on experience.
2. 37.5 hours per week: Monday to Thursday, 8:30 am – 4:45 pm, and Friday, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm.
