We are seeking a caring and dedicated Nursery Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant early years team. This is an exciting opportunity to support the learning and development of young children in their first year of formal education. The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood education and will work alongside the class teacher to create a nurturing and stimulating environment. This begins ASAP in February 2025.
Duties as a Nursery Teaching Assistant:
* Assist the Nursery teacher in delivering high-quality early years education, following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
* Support children’s learning through play-based and hands-on activities that foster curiosity and creativity
* Encourage children’s social, emotional, and physical development in a safe and caring environment
* Provide individual or small group support to children who need additional help
* Monitor and track children’s progress, helping to plan next steps in their learning
* Assist with the organisation and preparation of the classroom and resources
* Supervise and engage children during outdoor play, lunchtime, and other activities
* Work closely with parents, colleagues, and the SENCO to support children’s well-being and development
Ideal Nursery Teaching Assistant:
* A relevant childcare or teaching assistant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 CACHE, or equivalent)
* Experience working with children in an early years or Nursery setting
* A passion for early childhood education and a commitment to children’s development
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* A patient, caring, and proactive approach to working with young children as a Nursery Teaching Assistant
* Knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and child development principles
